細番手の絹糸で濃淡を描く。
It represents the spreading world view,
with fine-count silk drawing gradations.

真っ直ぐ走る水平線。
The Straight Line of Horizon

力強く、凛とした一直線。
The weft expresses a strong,
dignified straight line

水平線を境に広がる海。
静かに佇み、時として強さを見せる。
The Sea Stretching Out, below the Horizon
The Calm Sea Occasionally Turns Into the Angry Sea,
showing its power

目の前に広がるあの海の風景をストールに。
The Sea Spreading Out Before Us

太番手の絹糸、かすり染め、
多色の青で海の動きを描く。
The silk thread twice as thick as the sky
represents the current, with Kasuri dyeing
and unevenly arranged colours.

15色の糸を染め分け、
細番手太番手の絹糸を
一枚の織の中に。
A variety of silk of 15-colour fine
and low counts turns into
one single stole, the woven sea.
