AKI

AKI was born in Osaka, Japan.
After graduating from the Faculty of Law, Kansai University, inspired by Mr.Yohji Yamamoto and moved to Italy.
She graduated from the Fashion Design Course at the Instituto Marangoni in Milan.
After returning to Japan, she worked at YOHJI YAMAMOTO FEMME for seasons, and then started to make women’s order clothes.
After that, she went back to Italy to learn traditional men’s tailoring techniques in Palermo, Sicily, and started ordering men’s gilets.

In September 2015, she presented a collection in Milan as a member of JAÀ Studio, an Asian designer brand consisting of Korean, Taiwanese, and Japanese designers.
The concept of the collection was “Spice For Your Style”.

In 2022, she opened an atelier and store in Osaka.

The fashion industry has been mass producing clothes in short cycles, resulting in massive waste.
AKI believes that this system needs to be changed, so she does not have ready-made clothes in her store, but instead continues to make clothes that customers want after receiving their orders, paying close attention to details and putting her heart into it.
To create “clothes that focus on the individual” using fashion as a tool for self-expression.
This is AKI’s lifework, pursuing the future of fashion.
